Yesterday, Sunday, March 22 we went to a Maasai village to visit and worship. This was about a three hour trip. The first part was on paved roads and the last was about 20 miles going 15-20 miles per hour for about one and a half hours. This area has not gotten rain for two years. They are praying for a lot of rain this coming rainy season since the community is constructiog a dam to give them water closer to where they live.
The top picture is Josiah Ole Kirisauh with his wife Sarah. The bags have the school supplies collected by our church. Josiah was very excited about the supplies we brought. Josiah was employed with BTL retiring a couple of years ago and now works in his own community of Oloilalei in community development and bringing the gospel to his people.
The next picture is one of the Maasai women. She was at the church service and visited with us later in the afternoon. We attended the church service for about an hour although the service is several hours long. The congregation welcomed us and prayed for us. The bottom picture was taken during the singing. We took a lot of pictures to remember our day and wish I could put them all on the blog but you will have to see them when we return home.
We will be leaving one week from today, March 30 and arriving home on the 31st.
